The Kiss River books are the uncovering of a romantic mystery, decades old but each book is a stand-alone, incorporating the same characters one grows to love, throughout.

The only Chamberlain book I couldn't give any more than three stars was "Fire and Rain" which ended abruptly leaving us wondering how it all came out/5(). Kiss River is first and foremost a romance novel, which is really not my thing. There is a mystery element, but it doesn't make a lot of sense.

A woman, Gina, drives across the entire US to check out a lighthouse, hoping to I'd read nine of Diane Chamberlain's books before picking up Kiss River, and I really enjoyed all nine/5.

Alternating chapters tell the stories Kiss River book year-old Bess Poor, the daughter of the Kiss River lighthouse keeper on North Carolina's Outer Banks during World War II, and Gina Higgins, a contemporary schoolteacher who has traveled to Kiss River on a mysterious : Keeper of the Light (Kiss River #1), Kiss River (Kiss River #2), and Her Mother's Shadow (Kiss River #3).

The Kiss River book series by Diane Chamberlain includes books Keeper of the Light, Kiss River, and Her Mother's Shadow. See the complete Kiss River series book list in order, box sets or omnibus editions, and companion titles.

It is a very well-written book, containing several interesting character insights, and in particular the story of Bess Poor is worth reading. However, because all the main characters (except Bess) seemed so distant and unknowable, I found myself treating Kiss River a bit like a homework assignment.

It took a lot longer to read than most books. Kiss River by Diane Chamberlain and a great selection of related books, art and collectibles available now at The second Lighthouse novel, KISS RIVER, is a well-written contemporary romance that uses an American heritage as a focal point for the tale.

When the tale stays in the present, the audience receives a strong plot as debate ensues over the merit of raising the lens along with a delightful romance between two deserving individuals. In a trilogy set in North Carolina's Outer Banks, HER MOTHER'S SHADOW is the grand finale to a tale that began with KEEPER OF THE LIGHT and flowed flawlessly into KISS RIVER.

HER MOTHER'S SHADOW focuses on Lacey O'Neill, a woman in her late twenties who has spent the past decade molding herself into the image of her mother/5.

This is the first book in a trilogy (other novels are Kiss River and Her Mother's Shadow). Diane's books are always full of complex interesting characters, good plots, family relationships and drama, suspense and many secrets to be revealed in the end.4/5.

Kiss River’s historic nineteenth-century lighthouse has all but fallen into the sea, taking with it the huge Fresnel lens that once served as its beacon. Gina is desperate to find a way to raise the lens; the glass holds the key to her future, her fortune and her only chance to.

Kiss River Published by User, 17 years ago Gina has made it her quest, her very life's work, raise the Fresnel lens that lit up the lighthouse beacon on the historic and beautiful Kiss River, despite the fact that most of the local residents believe it belongs at the bottom of the sea/5(5).
